AAOS/AOSSM Fundamentals of Knee and Shoulder Arthroscopy for Orthopaedic Residents

This surgical skills course is designed to provide orthopaedic residents with the skills necessary to become proficient at knee and shoulder arthroscopy procedures. Each course session begins with a brief lecture outlining OR set up, equipment, procedural sequence, and pitfalls to avoid. At the conclusion of the course, residents will be proficient at completing diagnostic knee and shoulder arthroscopy procedures, and will begin developing skills for procedures including partial meniscectomy, meniscus repair, subacromial decompression and biceps tenotomy. Residents attending this course will also gain exposure to ACL reconstruction, rotator cuff repair and labral repair surgery to gain a perspective on the intricacies of these procedures.
